WONDERFUL Wednesday!

I got a most EXCELLENT email today requesting some work from me! Total info I cannot divulge yet, but I am SOOOO excited!!!

I got to try my hand at a few BBQ invites today. My dh laughed so hard at the one shown here. We have been planning on having a BBQ here soon so it was good practice at making the invites.

Stuart will be here tomorrow! I am leaving work a little early to pick him up from OKC. I hate driving by myself but dh cannot get out of work before then.

Matthew's first day of his new classroom was today. He had SO much fun playing with the bigger kids. His old classroom was 6 week olds to 17 months. This new one is 18 months to 3 years!! He is always watching kids wherever we go so this is a GREAT thing for him.

I really need to focus on completing a couple layouts for a contest. I just cannot seem to get motivated by the sketches. Ever have that problem?

Triumphant Tuesday!

YAY!! My new camera has FINALLY arrived!!! Its my birthday present from Rich and Matthew. Its a Kodak Z710. Not the HIGHEST model they have but its really nice!

I am working on a couple of layouts for the Memory Maniac Masters. A couple of the ladies at Scrapstreet are entering as well. It gives me a PERFECT opportunity to try out my new circle cutter from EK. Sketches can be found here: sketches

Memorial Day Monday

We bought a firetruck/car for Matthew today. We have been wanting to get one but were torn on getting one from a consignment store or from the PX. We decided to go the consignment store route and could find NONE, and I mean NONE, around! Usually I see 10 to 15 of them on my way home from work! How could this be!? Well, we really had our heart set on getting him one so we headed to the PX. He LOVES his new car. It makes sounds and lights up too!

I finally also finished some projects I have been trying to work on for over a week now. A blinged frame for my friend, Amy, who's birthday was on the 23rd and a rotary frame for my FIL who's birthday is on the 30th. Both will go out in the mail tomorrow. YAY!


Ok, now on to my problem. I am really worried that Matthew is hitting his terrible two's and Rich and I are totally unprepared for it. He is screaming in stores if he doesn't get his way, he swings at us if we take something away or tell him no, he doesn't listen ON PURPOSE and throws temper tantrums ALL DAY. Where has my sweet boy gone? I think Rich and I will need to do some reading on what to do about him.

Conversation between Matthew and I earlier:

Mommy: Matthew please don't play with that marker.
Matthew: Mine?
Mommy: No, Matthew, thats Mommy's. We don't play with mommy's scrap stuff.
Matthew: Mine.
Mommy: No, Matthew, please go put it back.

He proceeds to go to my scrapbook room and trade the marker for my camera.

Mommy: We don't play with that either Matthew. Please give it to Mommy.

He looks at the camera, looks at me, looks back at the camera and takes off running. Daddy chases him down, takes the camera, tells him no and he swings at Daddy.

:::mantra:: it will get better, it will get better, it will get better

Anyone have any advice? :)

Sunday Laziness...

Today has been such a lazy day! I love it in some ways and in others it annoys me. Matthew is teething again so he is BEYOND cranky and my dh is so tired from staying up all night that he has been passed out on the living room floor for hours. So its left to me to deal with the little monster until his scheduled nap times. FINALLY he is down for an hour...

I found two pictures of Rich's parents. One taken recently when we all had our family pictures taken together and another from a LONG time ago of the two of them on his dad's old fishing boat, hugging. It brings up such strong emotions in me that I just HAVE to scrap them together :) I will post it when I finish.

Ok enough for now. Need to scrap.

Saturday Madness

I love three-day weekends, don't you? I always feel like I have two Saturday night's to scrap :) Best feeling ever! Well, maybe not the BEST feeling, but pretty darn close.

One Page At A Time is having a virtual crop this Memorial Day weekend and some fun challenges first thing this morning. So, me being the crazy gal I am, joined in. I also had to rope my son and husband into a few....they didn't mind...too much ;) The challenges were different each time, with a list of different items in your home to photograph. As you can see, they were VERY random :)

Well, off to scrap.

I am SO excited! My younger brother is coming to visit next week Thursday for 10 days!! I have not seen him in over a year and I cannot WAIT until he is here. Last time he saw Matthew, he could barely roll over...now he is running around like a crazy boy! I can't wait to see what he thinks of him.



So tomorrow is FINALLY Friday! The beginning of a BEAUTIFUL three day weekend. The weather outlook may be gloomy but it is three days that I get to spend home with my family before going back to work. YAY!! We really have no plans for this Memorial Day weekend. Rich and I have date night tomorrow night. We are going to see Pirates of the Carr. Part 3!!! Orlando Bloom

PHEW!

It's been a while since I built this blog and made a new post! STAR at Scrapstreet is over. Diana and I made it to round 3. We were VERY proud of ourselves but totally out-talented by some AWESOME girls (and one guy!). As we become more experienced scrappers, its crazy to see the difference in layouts from last fall to now. I will have to post some differences soon.

Can you believe its already the final day!!!! I have liked Jordin from the beginning and have crossed my fingers for her every round. Maybe its because she isn't the smallest girl, kwim? She is beautiful and talented and doesn't have to be a twig. Congrats Jordin!!!!
